What length fender line do I need?
Generally, 1.5–2m for yachts under 40 ft, 2–3m for 40–60 ft, and 3–5m for larger vessels with higher freeboard. The line should be long enough to position the fender at the right height with room to tie off.
What’s the difference between fender lines and fender hooks?
Fender lines tie to your rail. Fender hooks clip on without knots. Lines are simpler and cheaper; hooks are faster to deploy and don’t mark rails. Most cruising sailors use lines; professional crews often use hooks.
Are these pre-spliced?
Yes — every line comes with a finished eye splice. No splicing or whipping required.
What color are they?
All Yachtfend fender lines are black.
Can I get custom lengths?
For fenders 32″ and above, custom lengths are available with a 3–4 week lead time.
Are they UV-resistant?
Yes — soft polyester silk construction with high UV and abrasion resistance.
